PRICE-BASED TRADING
A Different Way of Looking at the Market
The majority of conventional trading education is built around time-based charts. Five-minute charts. Fifteen-minute charts. One-hour charts. Daily charts.
VFA takes a fundamentally different approach. We teach Price-Based Trading.
Our methodology uses TMS Bars, a specialised price-based charting approach designed for NinjaTrader. Unlike conventional time-based charts, these charts are built around price movement rather than fixed time intervals.
This changes the way market information is presented and analysed. The objective is to reduce unnecessary market noise and provide a clearer representation of price behaviour, allowing traders to focus more directly on what the market is actually doing.

Many trading educators encourage students to maintain large watchlists containing multiple stocks, indices, currencies and other instruments. VFA takes a different position.
We teach one market. NASDAQ Futures.
We specialise in the Nasdaq Futures market, and this is the market our educational methodology is built around. We don't believe that becoming familiar with dozens of markets automatically makes someone a better trader.
Our philosophy is simple: Master one thing deeply rather than knowing many things superficially. Our students are therefore given the opportunity to focus their learning, practice and development around one specific market.
CAPITAL MANAGEMENT BEFORE RISK MANAGEMENT

The trading world constantly talks about: “Risk Management.” At VFA, we believe there is an important principle that comes before it: CAPITAL MANAGEMENT. Risk is ultimately connected to capital.
Before deciding how much risk to take, a trader must understand:

- How capital is being deployed
